Summer Session Housing, Advising Week, and Course Updates

Looking for a place to stay during Summer Session?  Check out ESF’s brand-new residence hall:  Centennial Hall! This environmentally friendly, “green” building offers two-bedroom suites at affordable rates (just $40.00/night).  Both visiting and matriculated students are welcome.

Centennial Hall (www.esf.edu/welcome/campus/centennial.htm) has been awarded Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.  For more information about housing during Summer Session, please contact Kimberly Max at mgrchsyracuse@edrtrust.com.  More details available in the Summer Session student guide:  www.esf.edu/outreach/summer/documents/ESFSummerSession2012StudentGuide_002.pdf

Don’t forget:  it’s advising week at ESF!  Ask your adviser whether Summer Session classes are a good addition to your academic plans.  Whether you’re looking to finish off those general education requirements, retake a class, or explore something totally new, Summer Session is a great time to get ahead.  This year we’re offering over 40 courses in the classroom, online, and in the field.  For full course list and more details about Summer Session, go to www.esf.edu/outreach/summer/.   Remember, registration is next week, so take a look today!

Be sure to check out some of our most recent course additions:

General Chemistry II (FCH 152) & General Chemistry II Lab (FCH 153)

Taught by Jesse Crandall, these courses fulfill SUNY general education requirements, and are required for nearly all students in the sciences.  Students will develop their understanding of chemical reactivity by focusing on concepts such as chemical kinetics and chemical equilibrium.
