Preparations are well underway for SUNY-ESF Summer Session 2013. Last summer, ESF and visiting students took a wide variety of courses during Maymester, Summer I, Summer II, and Combined Summer Sessions. These included exciting and stimulating field-based courses such as Field Ornithology, Interpreting Field Biology, and Forest Health Monitoring. In addition, ESF Online continued to expand with seven excellent course offerings including some general education requirements (American History: Colonization to Civil War, American History: Reconstruction to Present, Research Writing and the Humanities, and College Algebra and Precalculus). Students were also stimulated by the on-campus summer courses Introduction to Geospatial Information Technologies, Advanced Training in Alternative Energy, Computer Aided Design, and others. Additionally, students broadened their horizons with travel courses taking them to Acadia National Park for National Park Service Field School and to Puerto Rico for ON the Plaza Exploring Public Spaces and Cultures.
Course offerings and schedules are in the process of being built for Summer Session 2013. You can be certain that there will be a lot of great options for students to explore new ideas, concepts, and techniques whether advancing toward a degree or a lifelong learner.
